PETS AT HOME DARLINGTON COMES TO (LABRADOODLE) RESCUE!

The Pets at Home store in Darlington has come to the rescue of a national animal charity by donating much-needed prizes for a fund-raising online auction.

Lynn Crackett from Bishop Auckland is on the fund-raising committee for Labradoodle Trust, which cares for and re-homes unwanted and abandoned members of the dog breed – a cross between a labrador and a poodle – and approached the Darlington Pets at Home store to bolster the number of prizes for the auction, which ends this Saturday.

“All the staff in the store know me and some of the dogs really well”, said Lynn, a volunteer for the charity, adding: “When I asked if they could help, they agreed without hesitation”.

Now Lynn is bringing along two rescued labradoodles to the store at 2.30pm on Friday, December 5th, to pick up the prizes of dog beds and Christmas-themed toys.

“We were delighted to help such a worthwhile cause. Lynn works tirelessly here in the north east to raise funds as well as checking potential new homes, transporting dogs and even fostering them, and is an amazing lady who we are so happy to support”, said Pets at Home store manager Kevin Garbutt.
